Easy DIY Holiday Gift Ideas

Anyone else out there feeling behind in the holiday prep this year? I don’t know how its half way through December already. It will likely be one of those years we don’t even get the tree up 🙈  I guess that’s one less thing to check off the to-do list…

I’ve only recently wrapped my mind around gifts for the holiday. I’m a big fan of gifting experiences but it doesn’t feel sentimental to hand over a gift card and scheduling the timing of activities can be tricky.

In planning for my list, I’ve come up with easy, thoughtful kits I’d thought I’d share that allow the giftee to enjoy fun moments with friends and family or even solo. Scroll down and see if you can knock check people off your list with these DIY gift ideas!

**You could easily make this a movie night and swap out the games for movies.

2.) Home Décor Box

For the home design enthusiast, gather a collection of beautiful items that will be sure to enhance any home.

3.) For the Outdoorsman

Purchase a Camelbak or backpack and stuff it with a variety of useful goodies for that person who is always out in nature.

4.) Cocktail Kit

Select a couple cocktails that your giftee might enjoy (maybe something out of the ordinary) and gather ingredients in small sizes.

Try a Berry Vodka Smash:

Or a Ranch Water (sounds awful but its actually really fresh and delicious!):

5.) Spa Basket

For that person in your life who would love time for themselves soaking up some rest and relaxation.

6.) Art Project Box

For that someone who’s always looking for a creative project to do. Grab a variety of objects to paint, the paint essentials, and give them the gift that will let their imagination run wild.

7.) For the Plant Lover

I think we all have someone in our lives who has an amazing green thumb (or at least trying their best to bring Mother Nature inside). Pull together some fun and useful items that any plant lover would love to have.

8.) Wine pairing

Charcuterie boards are delicious and fun, but why not take it up a notch and intentionally pair the food with the wine in a beautiful basket? Don’t worry, I’ve got some pairing recommendations for you below!

>> Nuts - Cashew or pistachios work well with a zesty Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. Walnuts with Cabernet, Malbec, or other red wines will are a delicious couple.

>> Dried Fruits - Raisins and figs pair well with heavy red wines. Pair mangoes with Sauvignon Blanc and Gala apples with a Chianti or Pinot Noir.

>> Chocolate - It’s a good idea to match the intensity of the chocolate with the intensity of the wine. For example, dark chocolate is wonderful with Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon

>> Cheese and meats - ask your local wine store for recommendations on meats and cheeses that would pair well with the wine varieties your purchasing.

P.S. If you want to support your community or you’re out of time, take these ideas and buy local!

Hope these sets help you check some gifts off your list. And remember.. the holidays are meant to be enjoyed. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to do it all. Try to live in the moment this holiday season and embrace all those special moments with your loved ones. Happy holidays. ❤️
